REQUIREMENTS TO EXPEDITE A PASSPORT RENEWAL

Proposed Timeline for Implementation for Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Requirements

The travel initiative requirements will be rolled out in phases, providing as much advance notice as possible to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines.  The proposed implementation timeline is as follows:
December 31, 2007 - Passport or other accepted document required for all air, border crossings.

Passports or Passport cards will be required for all land and sea crossings no later that summer 2008. No firm date has been set as yet.

The following instructions apply to you if you have a passport within 1 year of expiration, or if your passport has expired and is within 15 years from the date of issue.  In addition you must have been at least 16 years old when the passport was issued.  If these requirements do not apply to you, please contact our office for further instructions.

• Completed application form, DSP-82
• 2 passport photographs. (2x2) taken within the last 3 months
• Most recently issued passport
• Make your check or money order payable to the "U.S. State Department" for $135.00
• Proof of departure:
• Copy of your airline tickets or flight itinerary OR
• Letter from your company stating:
• Full name of applicant
• Correct date of departure
• Destination
• Purpose of trip
• A signed WITH BLUE INK release letter authorizing "IRATEX Passport & Visa  to collect the passport on your behalf. The release letter must be signed and dated by the applicant.

To avoid any delays in processing your passport please call our offices before sending us your documents. This will insure a complete and accurate packet.
